The Site

The Chesapeake Celtic Festival takes place on the wooded grounds of the Furnace Town Living History Museum. The bagpipe parade winds through the site of a nineteenth century industrial village. NEW this year is a boardwalk-road that is handicapped accessable and offers an easy path through Furnace Town.

Stroll the Celtic Marketplace among the trees and watch strolling performers. Visit with artisans in the weaving house, print shop and other buildings.

Enjoy music throughout the grounds and watch dancers and other performances on the outdoor main stage from informal hillside seating (bring a chair or ground cover).

 Directions:

Furnace Town is located south of Salisbury, Maryland. From Salisbury, take MD Rt 12 south 16 miles. Turn Right on Old Furnace Road. Furnace Town is 1 mile ahead on your left.

Note: Parking is limited at the site but a free shuttle bus is available from Snow Hill, 6 miles farther on Rt 12.
